Get treated with male yeast infection treatment that work. See the complete list of man yeast infection symptoms if you are not sure you have a male yeast infection (balanitis). You're at this page because you want to find a male yeast infection treatment that work.
This is my standard advice -- if this is the first time you're experiencing a penile yeast infection, keep reading for a natural penis yeast infection treatment you can use. A penis yeast infection is not life threatening, but I strongly urge you to see your doctor to get a proper diagnosis for a few reasons -- 1) you don't want to just assume that you have a penile yeast infection (balanitis), 2) you could have something more serious than a man yeast infection such as another STD (sexually transmitted disease), and 3) self treatment with an over-the-counter yeast infection medication when in fact you do not have a man yeast infection is not a good thing. Why? If you in fact do not have a man yeast infection but still treating your infection symptoms with an OTC antifungal cream, you could end up creating a more resistant strain of candida albicans with repeated use.
If you have been medically diagnosed as having a penile yeast infection, here're some natural male yeast infection cures.
Garlic Capsules
It took me almost 5 years to finally find this as a awesome solution, but I'm still glad I found it! Garlic supposedly has powerful antifungal and antibacterial properties, the most potent of which is allicin that is supposed to "asphyxiate" the candida cells so that they can't respirate. This is the brand I like. I don't know how the other brands stack up as I've been extremely satisfied with this particular brand. So why mess with a good thing, right? Click here for my more detailed discussion on why I like this brand. If you find another brand that works just as well or better, send me an email and let me know!
Here's what you do to make this male yeast infection treatment --
- To use garlic capsules as a male yeast infection treatment, break open 5-6 garlic capsules into a small bowl. You need something large enough to hold about 3 or 4 cups of water, but shallow enough so you can comfortably put your penis into.
- Add about 2 cups of warm water into the bowl (with the garlic powder) and stir it so that the garlic is well dissolved.
- Lift the bowl up to your penis and let your it soak in the solution for 15 to 30 minutes.
- After you're done, be sure to pat dry the penis and foreskin.
You may realize by now that it takes some time use this male yeast infection treatment. Well you're right. It is best to do this in the evening, and preferrably after showering so you're working with a clean penis. If you find that 5-6 garlic capsules are not sufficient, you can add more capsules to your solution. Repeat this male yeast infection treatment once in the morning and at bedtime until 1 day after your symptoms are gone.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is the essential oils derived from the Melaleuca alternifloria tree cultivated in Australia. It is supposed to have antiseptic and anti-bacterial properties. Here're a couple of options for using tea tree oil as a yeast infection home remedy --
- Tea tree oil soak. Similar concept as the garlic capsules soak I mentioned above, only you're using a tea tree oil solution. Here's what you'll need to make this solution --
- Tea tree oil. I've found tea tree oils at various local health food stores. I've also found tea tree oil at reputable merchants on the web at some really decent prices. Click here if you prefer the organically grown version.
- Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol)
- Distilled water
- A small bowl. You need something large enough to hold about 3 or 4 cups of water, but shallow enough so you can comfortably put your penis into.
- Calendula cream. Calendula has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic (antibacterial and antiviral) and astrigent properties. These have been confirmed in lab tests. Calendula also has healing properties -- an especially good thing if you have rashes and sores on the head of the penis. You can find calendula cream at local health food stores or at reputable online merchants.
Here's what you do --
- Mix 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil with 1 teaspoon of isopropyl alcohol. This solution will turn a milky white color. Pour this solution into a dropper bottle.
- When you're ready to make the soaking solution, mix 10 drops of the above solution to 1 pint of distilled water (2 cups of water).
- Lift the bowl up to your penis and let your it soak in the solution for 15 to 30 minutes.
- After you're done, be sure to pat dry the penis and foreskin.
- Apply the calendula cream on the penis.
- Diluted tea tree oil. You NEVER want to apply an essential oil directly to your skin. The stuff is simply too powerful and can burn the begeebers outta ya! Believe me -- even when I mix a couple of drops in with a OTC cream to dilute it, it was still mighty strong and I was still feeling the effects of it the next day! If the above male yeast infection treatment not strong enough for you try applying a few drops of the above diluted solution (the isopropyl alcohol and tea tree oil mixture sans the distilled water) directly to your infected penis.
OR, you can try mixing one to three drops of the tea tree oil to 1 tablespoon of olive oil and applying a few drops of this mixture directly to the penis. Store the unused mixture into a small dropper bottle. Again, all these ingredients can be found in your local health food store or click here for more description and a reputable online merchant.
